Who are the Friends?
The Friends of the St. Charles Public Library is a non-profit organization that raises funds and provides volunteer support for the benefit of the library. Every October, the Friends hold their annual meeting and organize a book and bake sale. The Friends also serve as volunteers to help out in the library and at library programs. In the past, the Friends have funded the purchase of:
- Library card lanyards for the first graders
- Books for preschool screening
- DVDs and classic books for the library’s collection
- Shelving units
- Pizza for the St. Charles Elementary reading lock-in
- Paint for the mural
- Landscaping
- Barcode scanner
- Bike rack
Why become a Friend?
There are a few perks to becoming a Friend of the St. Charles Public Library. First of all, Friends will receive a coupon for a free book at the October Book and Bake Sale. Friends will also get the opportunity to volunteer with the library, and help direct how Friends funds will be spent to further support the library.
