Celebrating Differences Story Time
Monday, July 20, 3pm
St. Charles Public Library
We are Kind, Helpful and Include Others! On Monday, July 20 at 3pm, Steph Kraus with the Southeastern Minnesota Center for Independent Living will visit the St. Charles Public Library for a fun story time that will celebrate differences.
Kraus will utilize Lindsey Larsen’s book, “Meeting Exceptional Friends,” interactive activities, and discussion to explore how people can do things in different ways, and that is okay. Children will learn that kindness is an action that can be shown by helping, including, and supporting others. Children will be engaged in discussions that practice building empathy and understanding in everyday situations. At the close of our story time, we will sing, “Everyone is Special.” Children will then explore “assistive tools” and find a coloring page of choice.
This event is free and open to the public. It is brought to the St. Charles Public Library by the SE MN Center for Independent Living.
