Library Closure

effective Wednesday March 18

COVID-19 is disrupting the day to day activities of all community members. The St Charles Public Library seeks to protect our community health by implementing a few changes to how we serve the community. We are hoping to continue meeting as many information and entertainment needs as possible in the coming days, while discouraging behaviors that might speed the spread of the virus.

Per the Minnesota Department of Health’s recommendation for social distancing, we will temporarily implement walk-up service beginning Wednesday March 18. Patrons are encouraged to place requests for items through the library’s website or the BookMyne app. Library staff will pull requested items from the shelves and will meet individuals at the front doors. During this time, browsing of the collection, use of public computers, and seating will be unavailable to the public. Library programs will also be canceled through the end of May.

Library Services that will remain unchanged:
–Libby app to download ebooks and audiobooks from home
–BookMyne app to request items or renew items from home
–24 hour book return (all library materials can be returned through the drop box door )
–Book suggestions from library staff via email, phone, or Facebook
-Requests can be placed either on or calling the library at 932-3227

Thank you for your understanding
